Hatfield Town Football Club

Moving forward with the club and the announcement of a new Chairman taking position. Hatfield Town Football now represented in the Senior Herts County Leagues.

At the end of the 2018-19 season, long-serving Chairman Chris Maloney announced that he would be stepping down from the role. After a brief spell of uncertainty surrounding the future of the club, an approach was made by the Hatfield Town committee to bring in Chairman of Welham Albion FC, John Shearer. Following several meetings regarding the new stadium plans and the direction that the club wanted to take in the future, Shearer accepted the offer in late May.

After starting Welham Albion Football Academy in 2016 with just one team, the club quickly began to build a positive reputation in the local area. This continued in the 2017-18 season where Welham Albion’s Under 9’s team won the youth Europa Cup, league cup, Stamford Bridge cup and reached the final of the Emirates youth cup. Alongside this, the club had grown from one team to eight in the space of twelve months.

The start of the 2018-19 season saw the introduction of two senior Welham Albion teams competing in the Herts Senior County League. A successful season followed, with the senior side securing the double by winning both the league and the cup.

Youth success continued, with more teams competing in the Europa Cup and the Under 10 Warriors representing their country at the International Cup, which took place at St George’s Park, with games Shown live around the world.
